Meet the Duo Bringing Bluegrass to Village Halls

Bluegrass isn’t exactly the first genre you’d associate with a Tuesday night in a parish hall, but this duo has quietly built a following doing exactly that — twenty-odd dates a year, mostly places that haven’t hosted live music in years.

Why village halls

“Venues in cities want a guarantee you’ll draw a crowd. Halls just want the hall used,” one half of the duo explains. “So we get to play to whoever shows up, and half the time it ends up being the whole town.”

An unlikely genre match

Bluegrass and traditional Irish music share more DNA than people expect — both built on storytelling, both happiest played fast and a little rough around the edges. The crossover audience has turned out to be bigger than either of them predicted.

Catch them if you can

No fixed tour schedule — dates get added a few weeks out at a time. We’ll flag their upcoming shows here as we hear about them.
