New Single: The Ardglass Sessions

Most EPs go through months of overdubs and re-takes. The Ardglass Sessions did the opposite — three musicians, one room, one microphone, recorded in a single afternoon with no second attempts. The result is rougher than a studio record, and better for it.

Why record it live

“We wanted it to sound like the room, not like a version of the room,” one of the trio explained. “Every mistake that’s on there, we kept. If you listen closely you can hear a chair creak on track three. We left it in on purpose.”

What to expect

Five tracks, all originals, leaning heavily on fiddle and a stripped-back rhythm guitar. If you’ve heard them live at any of the pop-up sessions this summer, this is the closest thing to a recorded version of that exact set.

Where to hear it

Out now on the usual streaming platforms. If you want the full story behind the recording session, keep an eye out — we’re covering it in more depth on the podcast once it launches.
